Pvt. 2 Kevin Anderson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
The graduation ceremony was Aug. 20, at Hilton Field.
During the 10 weeks of training, Anderson studied the Army mission, history, tradition, core values, physical fitness and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare, drill and ceremony marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, basic first aid and field training.
During training at Fort Jackson, Anderson was with 1st Platoon, Company A, 2nd Battalion, 39th Infantry, 1st Platoon ? ?Hell Raisers, Lead the Way.?
Anderson is currently finishing his senior year at WACO High School in Wayland. After graduation, he will be going on for his advanced individualized training for the track vehicle recovery at Fort Lee, Richmond, Va. next summer.
Anderson is the son of Robert and Janice Anderson from Wayland.
