Anderson, Wolves wipe out Wildcats in North Division road game

COLUMBUS ? Hits were scarce and runs were non-existent for the Columbus/WACO softball team on Thursday night. Madie Anderson struck out 17 Wildcats in a two-hit shutout performance and the W-MU girls rolled to an 8-0.
The W-MU offense had a good start with three runs in the top of the first inning. The Wolves added a run in the second inning, one in the fourth and three more in the fifth.
Molly Miller continued her great year at the plate, going 3-4 with a double and two RBIs. Jobey Malone went 1-4 with two RBIs. Maci Richardson was 0-5 with two RBIs and a run scored, and Kyndal Townsley went 1-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Liana Sweezer was 2-4 with a double and two runs scored in the win. Jami Wilkerson was 1-4 with a run scored and a stolen base, and Anderson finished the game 1-4 with an RBI. Lauren Jamison stole two bases in the victory. Kwyn Rossiter finished the game with two runs scored as a courtesy runner.
W-MU moved to 8-5 with the win. The Wolves will travel to Van Buren for a cross-over game on Friday, June 22, at 7 p.m.
