N/A
Dec. 4, 2018 12:43 pm
The annual ACORN movie and potluck with the Henry County Conservation Department will occur on Dec. 20 at 10 a.m. in the Oakland Mills Nature Center Classroom.
The featured free movie at the event will be 'Bag It- Is Your Life Too Plastic?”
The film is described as a 'touching and often flat-out-funny film” which follows '‘everyman' Jeb Berrier as he embarks on a global tour to unravel the complexities of our plastic world. What starts as a film about plastic bags evolves into a wholesale investigation into plastic and its effect on our waterways, oceans and even our own bodies. …” The feature's runtime is 65 minutes and will be followed by a short, hands-on activity.
Those attending are asked to bring a food dish to share with the group at the potluck luncheon following the movie. The conservation department will only provide drinks and table service for this event. The conservation also invites attendees to bring homemade nature ornaments to add to their friendship tree.
This will be the last ACORN activity for some time and thus no preregistration is required; the activity will be held no matter what.
