Applications for open enrollment due March 1

Parents and guardians considering the use of the open enrollment option to enroll their children in another public school district in Iowa should be aware of the following dates:

? Sept. 1, 2014: Is the deadline for open enrollment requests for students entering kindergarten for the 2013-14 school year.

? March 1, 2013: Will be the last date for regular open enrollment requests for the 2013-14 school year. ?Good cause? exceptions may apply. Contact the school for more information.

Open enrollment forms may be picked up in the district office in the district in which the family resides or downloaded from the website at www.state.ia.us/educate/.

Applications must be filed with both the receiving and sending districts.
