Area chef spotlight dinner benefits Washington County charities
This year, instead of a competition between two chefs, one chef, Tim Howard of Café Dodici in Washington, will plan and prepare the full dinner. Instead, the focus will be on the food ? locally sourced meats, locally grown fruits and vegetables, homestyle baked breads, and a delicious variety of desserts. The Brick Arch Winery of West Branch will have wine for sampling and purchase beginning at 5:30 p.m.

A special feature this year will be a Dessert Auction, with pies, cakes and special treats donated from area restaurants, bakeries and individuals. These will be auctioned off as the final course and some of these proceeds will benefit the Paws and More Animal Shelter of Washington, one of the nonprofit partners of the Community Foundation of Washington County.
Tickets may be purchased from any Community Foundation Board member or by calling Don Yoder in Kalona, 319-656-2774, Colleen Sojka in Riverside, 319-648-2001 or Millie Youngquist, 319-653-4673 in Washington. The number of tickets is limited and they need to be purchased by Nov. 3.
