The American Legion Auxiliary No. 0047 recently met in regular session at VFW Hall.
Shirley Kitch reported money was sent for veterans needs to the Iowa City VA Medical Center. Rita VanDerSnick has sent coupons totaling several thousand dollars to be used by veterans and their families in other countries, accepted in the commissaries several months expired. Money was approved to assist an honor tour.
Poppies for distribution in May have already been received and a donation has been mailed to the veteran who made the poppies. Darlene Vorhies agreed to be in charge of the distribution. Auxiliary members and non-members interested in helping with a shift may contact Vorhies at 472-4449 as soon as possible.
