LADIES AUXILIARY TO DIMMITT-VORHIES POST 2271
Nine members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary to Dimmitt Post 2271 met Aug. 8 at the post home.
The auxiliary discussed the upcoming poppy days Sept. 16-17. Volunteers are needed to help distribute the poppies. Donations from poppy days support American troops, and hundreds of dollars worth of phone cards have been sent to deployed soldiers.
The VFW Auxiliary requests all sisters send in their yearly dues of $17. Lifetime members need to send $5 to cover the cost of cancer insurance.
The members discussed the Aug. 10 Rescare dance, where punch, cookies and music were provided.
Any auxiliary sisters who have recently been diagnosed with cancer must contact Mrs. Bill Watson to apply for a cancer grant. Watson may be contacted at (319) 696-3585.
The next meeting will be Sept. 12, and all members are asked to attend.
