Winifred Fritz of Brighton received the following phone calls wishing her a happy birthday: brother Herb Moeller of Weaver, daughter Rita Berry of Missouri, grandsons Michael Fritz of Ames and Issac Berry of Missouri, cousins from Fort Madison, northern Iowa and St. George Utah.
The evening meal of Friday, Oct. 4, at the home of Winifred Fritz in Brighton was provided by family members. Winifred was honored for her birthday. Six of her eight children were able to attend. Joe and Rita had other commitments.
A bonfire and hayride was sponsored by her grandson, J.D. Hollingsworth, of Packwood.
Approximately 30 to 40 friends and relatives were able to attend. Grandchildren Andrew Fritz of Tipton, Megan Berry from Missouri, Rachael Goltfelty with Coraline and Oliver of Nevada, Iowa, were able to join them.
Megan Berry and friend from Independence, Missouri, arrived at the home of her grandmother Winifred Fritz, of Brighton, on Oct. 4. They enjoyed lunch, the evening meal, hayride and visiting. They were joined by Winifred's granddaughter Julia Fritz, of Cedar Falls, on Oct. 5. Megan and friend left that afternoon to visit Megan's aunts, Mary and family, of Fairfield, and Lucy and family in Keosauqua, before returning to Missouri on Oct. 6.
