AREA COMMUNITY NEWS: Brighton

Rosemary Pacha, of Brighton, with daughter Jennifer, of Johnston, met Pacha's son Jeff, of Wichita, Kansas, on July 26. They attended the funeral of Geraldine Scheller, Pacha's sister-in-law. The funeral was Friday, July 26, in Emporia, Kansas. Pacha and her daughter were overnight guests of Jeff and Michelle's that night. They returned home Saturday, July 27.

David Smith with son, Corey, of Minnesota visited his mother, Caryl Smith, of Brighton Monday through Wednesday, July 29-31.

Megan Berry and friend of Odessa, Missouri, visited her grandma, Winifred Fritz of Brighton in time for lunch Saturday, July 27. They were joined by Fritz's daughter Lucy Dietzman with Brenden and Malcolm of Keosauqua. They played board games that afternoon. Lucy prepared homemade pizza for their evening meal. Berry and friend left for Edgewood on Sunday, July 28 before returning home.

Greg Fritz of Fairfield grilled the noon meal of Sunday, July 28 at the home of his mother, Winifred Fritz, of Brighton. They were joined by his wife, Deb, and Winifred's grandchildren JD Hollingsworth of Packwood and Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield. JD had arrived from Zearing visiting his in-laws. Becky with Noah stayed to visit her parents.

Travis Remington, with Coraline, of Crosby, Tennessee, visited his mother, Pat Remington, of Brighton, on Wednesday, July 31.
