AREA COMMUNITY NEWS: Fourth of July planned in Keosauqua

KEOSAUQUA - Keosauqua Lions Club will host Keosauqua's annual Fourth of July celebration Thursday in City Park.
The day will begin with an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 7-10 a.m. Then, beginning at 11 a.m., lunch and snacks will be served all afternoon.
The Caleb Strait Memorial Pedal Pull is set for 1 p.m. in front of Hotel Manning. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m.
Kids' games, like an egg toss and a water balloon toss, will start after the pedal pull, around 2 p.m., in the park, while bingo gets underway in the Keosauqua Senior Center.
Kids can dig for coins in the Silver Mine starting at 4 p.m. The bounce house opens and kiddie train rides begin at 5 p.m.
Live music and a street dance, featuring The Harvest Band, will begin at 6 p.m.
A raffle drawing for cash prizes will be shortly before the fireworks display.
The fireworks is set for dusk over the Des Moines River.
Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
