Culinary Arts Scholarship Dinner tickets available
OTTUMWA - An annual event that raises funds for scholarships for culinary arts students at Indian Hills Community College will be held March 15. The Culinary Arts Scholarship Dinner is scheduled for the main dining room on the IHCC Ottumwa campus with a social and reception starting at 5:30 p.m.
A five-course dinner is prepared and served by the culinary arts students and chef instructors. Anthony Nace, an Ottumwa High School graduate, will be the guest speaker. Nace earned his degree from Indian Hills and began his culinary career as a cook at Zombie Burger in Des Moines. He also served as a chef at Des Moines Golf and Country Club and is currently the executive chef at Blu Toro Cantina & Grill in West Des Moines. He recently won a people's choice award in a competition in the Des Moines area.
Nace will speak at 6 p.m., following the reception and before dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Ticket sales are limited and those who plan to attend are asked to make reservations by March 7. Tickets can be purchased online through the Marketplace on the Indian Hills website at www.indianhills.edu.
