Art Center of Burlington to present three-day appraisals and art sale

Bring family heirlooms and learn more about their age and value to the Art Center of Burlington, located at 301 Jefferson St., in Downtown Burlington for a three-day event.
On Thursday, May 26, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Sean Susanin, of Susanin?s Auctioneers and Appraisers, from Chicago, Ill., will appraise fine art and fine jewelry (no costume jewelry). Susanin has served the needs of banks, attorneys, estate managers, private individuals, collectors, museums, government agencies and universities for the past 20 years.
On Friday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Art Center of Burlington will be selling pieces from their Private Art Collection. This will include framed paintings, prints and photography, as well as several local artists like Betty Guy and Len Everett.
On Saturday, May 28, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., there will be three qualified appraisers from River City Coins and Collectibles, William Taylor, Brenda Sayre, and George Wanamaker, specializing in antiques, coins, paper documents, clocks, pocket watches, aviation, cameras, toys, farm tools and kitchen items.
Proceeds go to the operation of the Art Center.
Art Center of Burlington serves as an art resource through appreciation and recognition of the role of the art and artists in the community. Located in historic Downtown Burlington, Art Center of Burlington showcases the works of local, regional, and some international artists and craftspeople with monthly exhibits in the Gallery and one-of-a-kind artwork for sale in the Artists Market.
Children, teen and adult art classes and workshops are offered, along with special events such as Snake Alley Art Fair throughout the year.
