Art walk makes call for submissions

Calling all filmmakers, photographers and poets ? Fairfield 1st Fridays Art Walk is having its annual film festival in February, but is trying something a little different this year by having the theme of Romance.

Art walk also is adding two more categories of art to include: photography and poetry.

Art walk is interested in all films, photographs and poetry with a romantic theme.

Deadline for submission is Monday.

View the art walk website and fill out the appropriate form for each category. All forms can be accessed at: www.fairfieldartwalk.org/events/art-walk-events/140-the-art-of-love-romantic-film-and-photography.html.

Film submissions: Initial films can be sent by filling out the online form and providing a YouTube or Vimeo link. Up to three submissions per person are allowed. Accepted submissions will be required to send DVDs of work to Hawthorne Direct, Attn: DeeDee Banks, 300 N. 16th St. Fairfield 52556.

Photography submissions: Up to five photographs can be submitted per person. Those submitting photos must fill out the online form and submit a high resolution 8-by-10 inch print to Henderson Frames and Gallery, which will host this exhibit.

Prints submitted to the contest will be donated to art walk to be used as a fundraiser. Prints can be dropped off at Henderson Frames and Gallery.

Poetry submissions: Up to three romantic poems can be submitted per person. Poetry can be emailed to: fairfieldartwalk@gmail.com. Poetry will be read at Earth and Water Tea Shop.

Prizes will be awarded for each category.
