Everyone is invited to participate in Fairfield 1st Fridays Art Walk?s fourth annual apple pie contest, scheduled during the July 1 art walk on the Fairfield square.
Drop off of apple pies will be from 5:30-7 p.m. at the art walk booth, and winners will be announced at 8 p.m. at the gazebo. Prizes will be awarded to the top entries.
After winners are announced, slices of all the pies will be available for sale at the art walk booth. A panel of local, experienced pie lovers will donate their time and taste buds to judge the pies, looking for the ultimate combination of appearance, taste and creativity.
The contest is sponsored by MidWestOne Bank.
Other festivities during the July art walk include music, food, and arts and craft vendors. Live music starts at 5:30 p.m. with City Breeze, followed by all-male a cappella group Vocal Point from Brigham Young University at 6:30 p.m. Fairfield?s own Blue Cat Alley finishes the evening at 7:30 p.m. The Children?s Creation Station will be open to all youngsters.
To become a vendor or for information about the July art walk, call 233-8883 or visit www.fairfieldartwalk.org.
