Arthur Paul Ovrom, 90, of Keosauqua, died on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the Keosauqua Health Care Center.
Visitation was at Pedrick Funeral Home, in Keosauqua, from 3 to 7 p.m., on Monday, May 1, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Congregational Church, in Keosauqua, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, with the Rev. Herb Shafer officiating.

Arthur Paul Ovrom, 90, of Keosauqua, died on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the Keosauqua Health Care Center.
Visitation was at Pedrick Funeral Home, in Keosauqua, from 3 to 7 p.m., on Monday, May 1, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Congregational Church, in Keosauqua, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, with the Rev. Herb Shafer officiating.

Ovrom was born on May 31, 1926, in Gary, S.D., the son of Fred E. and Blanche Thompson Ovrom. He graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1944, then joined the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, he was in officer training, attending several colleges in the Midwest. He completed his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Iowa. He was called back into service during the Korean War, and served as an Ensign on the U.S.S. Adirondack docked in the bay of Naples, Italy.
He married Mary Hamblin of Bedford.
After the Navy, he worked his entire career at the bank in Keosauqua, where he was president for many years and sold insurance through the Manning and Ovrom Insurance Agency.
He attended the Keosauqua Congregational Church.
He enjoyed signing, directing plays, golfing, traveling, and spending time with his friends and family.
Ovrom is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Eliza (Mark) Schuling, of Des Moines, Fred (Maureen) Ovrom, of Iowa City, Jennie (David) Ferretti, of Charleston, W.V., Dorothy ?Dodie? (John) Jabour, of Clive, and Arthur ?Paul? (Stephenie) Ovrom, Jr., of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his sister, Betty Perkins, of Keosauqua.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Evelyn ?Trink? (John) Manning; and a granddaughter.
