When you walk into the library you might notice a few changes to our decor; namely, the addition of some trees. With the holiday season upon us, our Hospice trees have made their entrance and are situated in the front reading area. Each ornament on the two trees is in memory of someone who has passed away, and has been donated by a loved one. With just a quick glance, you can see quite a few lives that were lived with passion. We have card players, fishermen, animal lovers and sports fans, among many, many other hobbies represented on the two trees. They will be on display the month of December and are put on by Hospice of Washington County.
Another tree that has made its way into the library is the Mitten Tree. This annual tree comes in during the start of the colder months and is a way for Washingtonians to help one another lighten the burden of needing winter gear. The tree, right inside our main entrance, has various mittens, gloves, scarves, hats and socks that are available to those who are in need. Much like our ?Warm Up Washington? coat drive, there are no stipulations as to who can receive. That said, if you?re out shopping and want to grab some things to donate, we will gladly accept new mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, and socks until Monday, Dec. 12.
These are the new materials available at the library this week.
