At the library, we try to find a way to always be able to say yes to ideas that will benefit our patrons and community. This summer, we?ve said ?yes? to hundreds of area youth for our summer reading programs, and even added an unexpected new session of WeeRead due to a high volume of interest early on during the signup period. Because of the ?yes? attitude that is abundant throughout the staff and library supporters, we are able to say ?yes? in a variety of even more ways. With the help of generous donations, we were able to give a ?yes? to the Washington Community School District when they asked our staff to help with the implementation of the summer school program.
This attitude of saying ?yes? doesn?t end with our summer programs, though. Patrons come to us every day with questions, and while finding an answer can sometimes seem like a challenge, we always try to meet it head on. One minute, a patron may need to find their polling location, and the next, another calls and would like a book delivered because he lives in the nursing home and isn?t able to come in. In these situations, the staff at the library tries their best to accommodate because they are part of our community, one that we?re thankful to be a part of.
