At the Library

With Memorial Day weekend in the rearview mirror, summer has unofficially started! It has been fun to have the Farmers Market up and running for the season, and the Washington Classic definitely gave some of our day?s excitement! It was neat to look out the window and see all the tractors and machinery, along with the public coming by to take a peek!

Just as things are getting busier outside, things aren?t slowing down inside the library! Our Summer Reading Programs kick off on Monday, June 5. There is something for every age - from our tiniest readers who enjoy song and dance to our more mature patrons who want something to stimulate their minds in a different way. This summer we have two sections of Wee Read ? one for those who have attended preschool and one for those younger. Our elementary-aged-kiddos have a lot of fun planned, as well! The teens? Lunch Bunch is in full force again this summer and there?s a lot of excitement over their book, 13 Reasons Why. Finally, adults can come to our TedTalk discussions without any need to prep, or enjoy some socialization at Coloring Club. The All Iowa Reads book has recently made its way to our library, as well. Stop by and pick up a copy of Bottomland by Michelle Hoover.

We also have some family events throughout the summer such as The Grout Museum bringing their cool experiments, a trick jump-roper, a comedy cartoonist and a magician. All ages are welcome to these events. As always, our programs are free and open to the public.
