?Blind Date with a Book," is back, and it?s not just for adults this year! Tweens will have their own selection of books.
?Blind Date with a Book? will go on for the entire month of February. Just select a wrapped book from our ?Blind Date with a Book? display and check it out. Take it home, unwrap it, and enjoy! If you don?t like the book, simply return it to the library. Its feelings won?t be hurt. Inside the cover of each book will be a ?Rate-your-Date? card for you to fill out after you are finished reading your book. You can tell us if your ?Blind Date with a Book? swept you off of your feet, was love at first sight, or a total dud.
Celebrate Fiber Arts February with us on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. with "Civil War Fashion," a program by Karen Howe. She will discuss styles of clothing during the Civil War including textiles available in the mid-1800s, construction techniques commonly used, and the challenges of reproducing the clothing using the textiles and tools available today. We will even have some of her reproductions on display that morning! All ages welcome.
Candy canes, Gumdrops, and Lollipops, oh, my! On Saturday, Feb. 20, from 1-3 p.m. Candy Land will come to life. Families will get to ?climb inside? the Candy Land board game and travel through Peppermint Forest, Gloppy Swamp and Lollipop Woods. This event is FREE and fun for the whole family.
These are the new materials available at the library this week.
