On behalf of the staff and board of the library, we would like to congratulate Nathan and Jenisa Harris on their recent wedding. It was a very warm day, and unfortunately a transformer went out right at the beginning of their reception leaving all of us in the dark, and heat for a couple of hours. As bad as we all felt for the families, we were all amazed how quickly everyone jumped into action and turned it into one of the most memorable wedding receptions. Phones came out, and flashlights came on to shine on the couple as they shared their first dance, with music from a playlist off someone?s phone. The same held true for the father-daughter dance. At one point the lights came on briefly with a loud cheer from the guests, only to go out as quickly. But still the reception continued with the bride and groom enjoying their evening. It was truly a wedding none of us will ever forget. Cheers to you, Nathan and Jenisa, for making the most of a difficult situation. Rising to the challenge as you did, we know you are off to a great start as you begin your lives together.
That same evening we had to say good bye to our long time page, Elora Kraft, as she departed to work as a missionary in Spain. Elora has done a wonderful job in her years at the library. She was so dependable, and willing to help in any way she could. She cared about the people she worked with, and did an outstanding job assisting every patron who needed her help. We know she will take these gifts with her, and use them to serve those in need as she continues God?s work, which she is so eager to do. We will miss her positive influence behind the desk, but wish her the very best as she begins her journey in Spain, and look forward to hearing her stories when she returns.
