With Thanksgiving and November now over, it?s officially the holiday season. Sparkling white lights as you drive down the streets, seeing your breath hang in the air, the sweet smell of cookies everywhere ... it really is the most wonderful time of the year!
At the library, we have a great collection of Christmas materials to choose from to curl up and enjoy including the books "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" by Dr. Seuss and "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens and the movies "It?s a Wonderful Life" and "Miracle on 34th Street."
Another great way to get into the Christmas spirit is to attend our Christmas Gone Green program on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. This is a free program open to all ages (children under 10 should be accompanied by an adult) where you will learn to transform an old book into a beautiful Christmas tree. All you?ll need to bring is something special to top your Christmas tree. Registration is required for this event, so be sure to sign up at the library today.
Giving back during this holiday season is one of the best ways you can spend your time and a great opportunity for you to do so is by bringing in a donation of new mittens, gloves, hats, scarves or socks to add to our mitten tree at the library. The donations will be given to local children and adults in need.
Stop by the library this December and celebrate the Holiday season with us!
