Beginning Oct. 3 through Oct. 10, the Washington Public Library is excited to be hosting their second annual Festival of Pumpkins!
With nearly 50 very creative entries last fall, the Library staff would like to see if they can break last year?s record this year. Without carving your pumpkins, the library is asking patrons to decorate and/or paint them after your favorite book character or just simply use your imaginations to create a masterpiece. The possibilities are endless!
Businesses around the square can even participate by decorating or painting a pumpkin that symbolizes what their business is about. The Library will be accepting the pumpkin creations Oct. 3, through Oct. 10. The pumpkins will be judged by library patrons and the winners will be announced on Oct. 29.
After the contest, the entries may be taken home by the person(s) who created them. Pumpkin creations that don?t get picked up will be put on display outside our building for Trick or Treat around the Square, and then will be disposed of after the fun event. All ages are welcome to participate in this exciting event. So get your creative juices flowing and bring your decorated or painted pumpkin creations into the Library early before all the good ideas are taken!
