At the Library
I had the honor of working as a page at the Washington Public Library since August of 2015. However, my days as a library page are slowly coming to an end. On May 28, I will be one of the Washington High School graduating seniors to walk across the stage to receive my diploma. I had the honor of working as a page at the Washington Public Library since August of 2015. However, my days as a library page are slowly coming to an end. On May 28, I will be one of the Washington High School graduating seniors to walk across the stage to receive my diploma. My senior year has gone by extremely fast, but I am more than ready to go into the next chapter of my life.
August 3, will be my last day working at the library. The following week, I will be packing up my belongings and will be on my way to my next destination, Iowa City. For the 2017-2018 school year I will be attending The University of Iowa to major in English/Creative Writing, with a minor in Journalism. I also plan to work towards my teaching license to teach high school English. My love for literature has only increased with my time at the library. I have fallen in love with reading again, and my love to write has only improved. From my time of working with numerous patrons regarding various books, I have also decided to author my very own book throughout my time in college. So, maybe in a few years you can look for my book on the shelf the next time you are looking for a new read.
I have had quite the privilege of working with some amazing people. I am lucky enough to have worked alongside some of the hardest working ladies I have ever met. Their love for the library and the patrons is infectious and it really shows. Jolisa, Linda, LeAnn, Jenisa, and Amanda, thank you for always making me feel so welcomed from the very beginning. It is truly an honor getting to know and work alongside each of you. I have also made strong friendships with my fellow pages whom I love dearly. And most importantly, I want to say thank you to Debbie Stanton for allowing me to work at the library. I have had a wonderful time, and I couldn?t imagine not being here the past two years.
