This year is a maelstrom. Everyone is coming across many bumps on the road and, along the way, discovering strengths, weaknesses, and values. We are conflicted, anxious, and maybe even angry, but I believe that we will grow stronger from this. This year is a test for everyone and we will learn from it. After all, the year itself is a term used to describe sharp vision.
People say this year will be in history books because so many life-changing things have happened. I want to record what happened and encourage others to do the same. Writing can be beneficial for everyone during this time because it is a nice way to reflect or release any pent up feelings. I have been writing about past events, my family, and my thoughts. I want to try creating something good while sheltered from all that's brewing outside.
My high school years are done and I am patiently waiting for the next milestone in my life- graduation. It won't be the same as previous ceremonies, but I like to think that that's what makes it special; my class made it through senior year despite the obstacles we encountered and we're one of the first, among many across the nation, to have experienced it this way. I am curious, albeit a little nervous, to see what the next year and the year after that will give us and help shape us to be.
In the meantime, I will be a bookworm with pen and paper in hand in my own little cave, writing who knows what, awaiting what the future has in store for all of us.
