It's always exciting to see new books rolled in, labeled, wrapped, and shelved. Paperbacks, hardcovers, large prints, and all shapes and sizes (especially cute board books for the kids) are snuggled in shelves. Working at the library, I'm given the opportunity every day to see how much of an impact, big or small, books have in people's lives. I appreciate every book that is checked out and handed back in to the book drop.
Kids will remember the eye-catching books they read and loved, as well as the board games stacked on the bottom shelves - a comforting childhood memory. Adults come in for their daily routines: reading the newspapers, using the computers for their own business, meeting friends or workers, or getting the next book in the series.
School is busy, but I try to squeeze in time to read. I am currently reading 'All the Light We Cannot See” by Anthony Doerr. After all, who wouldn't want to be in another world for a few minutes? I'm excited to check out the latest things the library has in store and I urge everyone to do the same!
