I am happy to represent rural Washington County on the Library Board. My relationship with the library extends back to when I first moved to Washington. Forty-three years ago, my wife and I transferred to Washington while I was working for Spurgeon's Department Store. As we became familiar with the community, we both tried to take advantage of the opportunities to participate in various community and city organizations and boards. Since arriving in Washington, we have found the library to one of the highlights of the community. We have always found it to be a welcoming place and a place where our family benefited so much, from the reading programs when our son was young, to the many adult programs, concerts, etc. now being offered, not to mention the many books, periodicals, and other media. We are so fortunate to have a facility and staff of this caliber in the community.
