Jo and I wrapped up Summer Reading at the end of July at the Washington Public Library. It has been a joy to reflect on all the fun we had during those two months. We had Zoom story time, fun take and make bags, a tween book club, our own library fair week, story time with Miss Iowa, several story walks, and our first virtual juggler, Jester Jim from New Jersey!
We even got to give away some awesome reading prizes! Jo and I appreciate the families that stuck with us for our first virtual summer reading adventure. We are looking forward to filling the library up next summer with all our library friends!
I have really enjoyed putting together the Tween and Teen book bundle the last few weeks. The Tweens can pick which combo they want. There are eleven delicious combos to choose from. A few of them are: Home Run Reads Combo, MineCraft Mania Combo, Girl Power Combo, Sweet Reads Combo, and A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far, Far, Away. Combo. Each Tween Book Bundle Combo comes with two fiction books, one non-fiction book, and an activity that fits the theme!
The Teen Binge Bags include two fiction books, a movie that correlates with the theme, and a small bag of popcorn. Some of the choices are: 'Tired of Reality?”, 'What If?”, 'Poof! You're Reading!”, and 'Gotta Keep Your Head Up ... Ooh. You Can Let Your Hair Down..” Call 319-653-2726 to reserve your book bundles. Don't see a bundle that your teen or tween will like? Don't worry! You can request custom book bundles for your kids! Miss Jo has also made some Packs from the Stacks for our P-2 readers. Each pack contains both non-fiction, and fiction books using a common theme, along with a simple activity and literacy sheets. They are so fun you won't want to miss out!
