Award-winning pianist to perform concert

Pianist Keelan Dimick, three-time winner of the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, returns to Fairfield for a summer concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts.
Dimick, now 20 years old, is a rising star in the jazz genre, living and performing in New York City. He is currently studying with world-renowned jazz piano instructor Garry Dial at the Manhattan School of Music.
The concert, hosted by Rob Steinberg, will include ?Summertime? and ?Embraceable You? by Gershwin, the theme from ?Platoon,? ?Just Can?t Get Enough? by Black Eyed Peas, ?Some Day My Prince Will Come? from Disney?s ?Snow White,? and a variety of jazz standards by Miles Davis, Duke Ellington and others. Steinberg will perform some classical pieces, as well.
Steinberg has studied with Brian Ganz of the Peabody Institute, Jules Gentile of the L?Ecole Normale in Paris and composer Elizabeth Gould. He served on the board of directors of the Kennedy Center?s Young Concert Artist Series, and his recordings on YouTube have attracted 300,000 viewers.
