The Fairfield Band Aides organization is offering scholarships for instrumental music camps this summer.
Scholarships are available to students attending Fairfield Middle School or Fairfield High School. Eligible students may be involved in camps for percussion, jazz, wind instruments, string instruments, flags or drum major.
Band Aides will pay 50 percent of camp costs up to a maximum of $300 for the first 10 students that submit a request. For example, if the tuition plus room and board is $400, Band Aides will subsidize $200. If the cost of camp is $800, Band Aides will provide $300.
Students may contact their band director for camp information. The student can then submit a scholarship request to their band instructor who will forward the request to the Band Aides Board of Directors. If approved, payment will be issued to the parent or guardian. If the child does not attend the camp for some reason, the scholarship is to be returned in full to the Band Aides.
For more information, contact the local band instructor or Band Aides Scholarship Chairwoman LeAnne Edgeton at 472-1933.
