Baumert-Brock family holds annual reunion

The decendants of the Oscar and Bessie Baumert and the Horatio and Matilda Brock families met for their annual reunion, Sunday, July 14, 2019, at Holy Trinity Parish Hall in Keota. There were 77 in attendance. Following the blessing by Gene Baumert, a bountiful, cooperative dinner at 1 p.m. was enjoyed by all.
Those in attendance were Krista Steffen from Las Vegas, Nev.; Marjean and Joe Brasic from Dallas, Tex.; Kirby and Debi Baumert from Jamestown, Mo. Everette Van Fleet from Geneso, Ill.; Sandra Killin and Cedric Baumert from Des Moines; Dr. Paul Baumert Jr. from Pleasant Hill; Gwen Thyen, Kolten Thyen-Pennington, Aaron, Leslie, Ian and Evan Schaver from Waterloo; LeAnn, Breanna, Jamari and Jasyia Williams from Cedar Rapids; Larry and Connie Baumert, Bill and Carolyn Toomer, Brian, Cassie, Liam and Ivan Dohmen from Marion; Justin, Jennifer, Jordon and Jonah Baumert from Victor; Michaela Standson, Keenan and Brielle Thyen from Williamsburg; David, Amanda, Lyla, Aidan, Wyatt and Lathan Smothers from Millersburg; Frances and Joanne Baumert; Peter, Patty, Benjamin, Korben and Pearl Hammes, Richard, Christine, Travis and Ashley Baumert; Loretta, Aaron and Tammy Streigle all from Sigourney; Cheryl Steffen from Ottumwa; Gracyn and Maverick Hervey from Ollie; Pat and Sue Pfannebecker, Samantha O'Neill and Bentlee Rush from Hedrick; Greg and Kathy Brower from Richland; Roger Baumert from Winfield; Mark Baumert from Ainsworth; Tracy, Nathan, Emily, Emma Baumert and Jeremy Peterson from Washington; Ethan, Kelsey, Addyson and Everlee Hammes from Wellman; Dennis, Judy and Gene Baumert of Keota.
Frances Baumert of Sigourney was the eldest in attendance and her great-granddaughter thirteen month old Everlee Hammes of Wellman was the youngest. A thinking-of-you card was signed for Margaret Burk and family of Bucklin, Mo. A guessing game was played and Jeremy Peterson of Washington, was named the winner, with the correct number of M&M's guessed. Everyone enjoyed playing Bingo with many prizes given. Picture taking and visiting rounded out the day.
The 2020 reunion will be held, the second Sunday in July at the Holy Trinity Parish Hall in Keota.
