Baumert-Brock reunion held in Richland

The descendants of the Oscar and Bessie Baumert and the Horatio and Matilda Brock families met for their annual reunion, Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Hinshaw Shelter in Richland, Iowa. There were 23 in attendance. Following the blessing by Gene Baumert, a bountiful, cooperative dinner at noon was enjoyed by all.
Those in attendance were Dr. Paul Baumert Jr. of Pleasant Hill, IA; Shelley Baumert of Cedar Rapids, IA; Larry and Connie Baumert of Marion, IA; Loretta Streigle of Sigourney, IA; Joanne Baumertomalka of Sigourney, IA; Aaron and Tammy Streigle of Sigourney, IA; Sue and Pat Pfannebecker of Hedrick, IA; Amanda, Lyla, Aidan, Wyatt and Lathan Smothers of Millersburg, IA; Samantha O'Neill and Bentlee Rush of Rose Hill, IA; Greg and Kathy Brower of Richland, IA; Tracy Baumert of Washington, IA; Dennis and Judy Baumert of Keota, IA and Gene Baumert of Keota, IA.
Loretta Streigle was the eldest in attendance and her great-grandson Lathan Smothers was the youngest. A thinking-of-you card was signed for Margaret Burk of Bucklin, MO; Irene Baumert of Burlington, IA; Frances Baumert of Sigourney, IA and a get well card for Caryl Nielsen of Cedar Falls, IA. A guessing game was played and Connie Baumert was named the winner, with the correct number of M&M's. Picture taking and visiting rounded out the day.
The 2021 reunion will be held, the second Sunday in July at the Hinshaw Shelter in Richland.
