Beck?s Superior Hybrids captures 2015 fourth quarter Community Pride Award

The Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce named Beck?s Superior Hybrids the fourth quarter winner of the Mt. Pleasant Community Pride Award for exceptional property maintenance.

Manager Daniel Ganz accepted the award during the October ?Alive After Five? networking event at the REC Center on Oct. 7, 2015.

The Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors created the Community Pride Award to honor those businesses and organizations that showcase exceptional maintenance and investment in their properties and to encourage other businesses to follow their lead. Winners are selected quarterly. Beck?s Superior Hybrids was selected for the Community Pride Award among several nominees.

?North Grand Avenue is kind of like the window to our community. Beck?s Superior Hybrids took an empty building, filled it up, put up signs and made it attractive to people when they came into town. We are happy to have Beck?s Superior Hybrids a part of our community,? said Chad Sloat, Walmart Store Manager and Chamber Board Member.

?Beck?s Hybrids is happy to be part of the Mt. Pleasant community,? says Daniel Ganz, manager of the Mt. Pleasant facility.

Beck?s is a family owned company based out of Atlanta, Ind., and has been growing for many years. Over the last two years, the company has started selling corn, soybeans and wheat to farmers in Iowa and Missouri. The Mt. Pleasant production location was purchased to allow production and distribution to farmers in this new territory

?Over the last year, the team has been working on updates around the plant. The biggest change for this location is that it will now be able to process and package both corn and soybeans," Ganz says.

Right now, Beck's is in the middle of its first harvest season. According to reports, yields have been better than expected.

"Soybeans are harvested by area growers who will then deliver the seed to the plant this winter. We are honored to be awarded the Community Pride Award. Beck?s Hybrids looks forward to a long future in Mt. Pleasant,? says Ganz.
