Friends may call after 1 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home, in Farmington. The family will meet with friends from 5 to 7 p.m., that evening at the funeral home.

Bessie Mae Kite, 84, of Farmington, died on Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, at her home.
Friends may call after 1 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home, in Farmington. The family will meet with friends from 5 to 7 p.m., that evening at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home, in Farmington, with Rev. Larry Wallingford officiating. Burial will be at the Croton Cemetery, in Croton.

The Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home, of Farmington, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Kite was born on July 8, 1931, in Memphis, Mo., the daughter of Robert and Pearl (Gray) Hatfield. On May 28, 1950, she married Otis James Kite, Sr., in Keokuk. He preceded her in death.
She worked as a residential treatment worker for the Mental Health Institute in Mt. Pleasant, where she retired after 21 years.
She enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, playing cards and collecting cow figurines.
Kite is survived by her two daughters, Cyrillis Kite; and Brenda (Joe) Cochran, both of Farmington; four sons, Otis (Teresa) Kite, Jr., of Farmington; Lloyd (Linda) Kite, of Bonaparte; Joe (Kim) Kite, of Farmington; and Gerald (Diane) Kite, of Mt. Pleasant; 21 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Veryl McComb, of Farmington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otis; and two sons, Roger and Robert Kite.
