Better start planting today

As I drive the roads in the country, it is so good to see the corn and beans sprouting up so quickly. It is hard to believe that in four or five short months those crops will be mature and harvested and the fields will be bare once again. There is a short window of opportunity to plant the seed to ensure a mature and abundant harvest.
Jesus told a parable in Luke 8 of a man who sowed a crop of seeds. Jesus explained that the seed was God's Word, and the soil was a man's heart. The seed that was planted in the soil that was properly prepared, brought forth hundredfold (produced 100 times as much as normal.)
"All Scripture is given by the inspiration of God." God's word is the very source of life. "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God." Only God has the words of eternal life. As we read, meditate, study, obey, and speak God's Word it is planted in our hearts and brings forth good fruit in our lives. But we only have a short window of opportunity to plant. Today is the day of salvation! We'd better start planting today!
