Betty Jane Jennings, 90, of New London, and formerly of Wayland and Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at her residence.
A graveside memorial funeral service for Jennings will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Forest Home Cemetery, in Mt. Pleasant. Rev. Gloria Friedrich, of First Augustana Lutheran Church, in Lockridge, will officiate. Friends may call to sign the register from 9 a.m. ...

Betty Jane Jennings, 90, of New London, and formerly of Wayland and Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at her residence.
A graveside memorial funeral service for Jennings will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Forest Home Cemetery, in Mt. Pleasant. Rev. Gloria Friedrich, of First Augustana Lutheran Church, in Lockridge, will officiate. Friends may call to sign the register from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 18, at the Kimzey Funeral Home, located at 213 North Main Street, in Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:15 p.m., on Saturday at the funeral home.

Jennings was born on April 14, 1925, in Wayland, the daughter of Warren Reese and Ruth Elvira (Rich) Allen. She attended school in Wayland. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1945.
She was a resident treatment worker and supervisor at the Mt. Pleasant Mental Health Institute for over 30 years before retiring in 1990.
She was a member of First Augustana Lutheran Church, in Lockridge.
She enjoyed cheering on the Kansas City Royals, the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting and card playing.
Jennings is survived by her four children, Michael A. (Helen) Jennings, of Clinton; Susan K. Sinclair, of Mt. Pleasant; Richard D. (Diane) Jennings, of West Point; and Joan E. Hummell, of Cocoa, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Ardith Arthur.
