Bike Van Buren XXXIII is planned Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 17-18, in the Villages of Van Buren.
The annual event is a fun-filled weekend to exploring all of the Villages of Van Buren as well as several of its historic sites during a casual, family-oriented bicycle ride through Van Buren County.
Routes will begin and end both days in Keosauqua. Saturday's routes are 58 and 43 miles. Sunday's route is 50 miles. Route maps are provided during registration.
Walk-up registrations hours are 7-8:30 a.m. Saturday and 7:30-8 a.m. Sunday in Keosauqua City Park.
Keosauqua Lions will be serving an all-you-can-eat pancake,sausage and scrambled egg breakfast from 6:30-9 a.m. both days in City Park. Breakfast is open to the public. A fee is charged.
During breakfast Saturday and that afternoon at the Pearson House Complex, raffle tickets will be sold for a black Domane AL 3 54 Trek bike from Bickels Cycling and Fitness.
The winner will be drawn during Sunday's breakfast. The winner does not need to be present. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit various Lions Club projects.
Numerous food and drink stops will be about 8 to 12 miles apart.
Lunch will be available both days for an additional fee.
Free SAG support is provided to registered riders. Free bottled ice water is available on all support vehicles for riders throughout the weekend.
Bickels Cycling and Fitness will be en route with riders both days to provide technical support, if needed.
