A program about birding in Jefferson County is planned from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Carnegie Historical Museum in Fairfield.
Speaker Diane Porter will share insights and anecdotes from William Graham Ross's book 'Bird Notes - From a Journal of a Nature Lover.”
Ross could be labeled as the Father of Fairfield Birding. His journals from the early 20th century were both lyrical and scientific. His observations are still of great interest today.
The presentation will include information about what birds have been lost and what birds have been gained since Ross's time and his favorite birding spots in Jefferson County.
To attend, take the elevator to the third floor of the museum. Space is limited.
