BIRMINGHAM

The Villages of Van Buren Folk School will have two classes Saturday at the Birmingham Presbyterian Church.

A pie-baking class, with Janet Meek, is set from 9 a.m. to noon.

A stained glass ornament class with Jolene Tedrow is set from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m.

Registration is required for the classes. Call Melinda Stockwell at 319-592-3700 for registration and information.

STOCKPORT

Stockport?s Avenue of Flags was not displayed Sunday. The flags are flown four times a year on Memorial Day, Flag Day, Fourth of July and Veterans Day. The display is put up and taken down by volunteers from the Stockport community. Consider helping out next year so the Avenue of Flags can wave proudly for all people to enjoy.

The bank, post office, library and city hall will be closed Nov. 22 for Thanksgiving. City hall will be closed Nov. 23 also.

Stockport?s recycling and garbage pick-up will be Nov. 23 due to the holiday.
