Stockport American Legion is hosting its annual fish fry Friday at the Stockport American Legion Hall. Serving starts at 5 p.m. Carry-outs are available.

The American Legion Auxiliary is collecting items for patients at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City. Items can be left in the box at the Stockport bank: denture cleaner and adhesive, hair brushes and combs, nail clippers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, bath-sized soap, emery boards, stationary, envelopes and stamps, word-find and crossword puzzle books, pencils, pens, greeting cards, plus deoderant, aftershave and hand lotion in small or travel-size plastic containers and contain no alcohol.

Stockport Public Library has an on-going book sale. Three sets of encyclopedias are among children?s and adult books. Movies will be added soon. For information, call 319-796-4681 during library hours: 3-6 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays.
