RICHLAND -- Kids can explore all things outer space as the Richland Public Library presents 'A Universe of Stories” during its summer library program.
The registration and kick-off party for 5- to 12-year-old children going into kindergarten through fifth-grades is set from 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, with fun activities, crafts, and snacks.
The summer program will continue 'Space Camp” story times on Tuesdays throughout June and July with arts and crafts, stories, games, snacks, and prizes, along with visitors from the Blank Park Zoo, the Science Center of Iowa, 4-H and the Monarch Butterfly project. Preschool children can attend these programs if accompanied by an adult caregiver.
For kids and 'kids at heart” of all ages, the Richland library is offering a 'Legos and Games Day” on Fridays throughout June and July. Lego blocks and a variety of board games, blocks, card games and arts and crafts supplies will be provided. No registration is necessary to participate, just drop in between 1-4 p.m. on Fridays.
For information about these free programs, pick up a calendar of summer events from the library, call the library at 319-456-6541, visit the website www.richland.lib.ia.us, and read The Ledger for upcoming programs.
