Blessman to speak at Word of Life

Jim Blessman of Blessman Ministries in Urbandale will speak at Sunday morning services at Word of Life Lutheran Church.

Blessman will speak at both the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services about the ministry?s work in South Africa.

Blessman Ministries is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reaching those affected by the HIV/AIDS crisis.

Those involved with the ministry work to meet the physical needs of the children of South Africa by providing nutritional support, housing and medical care. They also work to meet the spiritual needs through training and support for leaders of the African church.

Women of ELCA selling coffee, tea

First Lutheran Church?s Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will have coffee and tea sales Sunday.

The Women of the ELCA coffee and tea sales will be held during fellowship time following the 10 a.m. congregational meeting.

First Presbyterian to recognize seniors

The First Presbyterian Church will have its High School Senior Recognition Sunday on May 19.

The 10:30 a.m. worship will include the presentation of scholarships.

A reception for high school seniors will follow worship.

Ladies? circle meeting

The Immanuel Lutheran Ladies? Circle will meet at 7 pm. Tuesday.

Knights? meal, meeting set

The Knights of Columbus will have a meal at 6 p.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church.

A meeting will be held following the meal.
