Blood center draws 129 units

A Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center mobile crew drew 49 units of blood Feb. 7 at Cambridge Investment Research Inc.

A crew drew 34 units of blood Feb. 14 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building.

Eleven units were drawn Feb. 20 at a blood drive sponsored by Jefferson County Area Ambulance Service.

Nineteen units of blood were drawn Feb. 21 at a drive sponsored by Lockridge Fire and Rescue at the Lockridge Senior Center.

Sixteen units were drawn Feb. 22 at a blood drive at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building.

According to the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, one pint of blood can help save the lives of up to three patients, and one out of every five people entering a hospital will need blood products.
