Blood center schedules upcoming drives
Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center announced three upcoming area blood drives.
Cambridge Investment Research, Inc., will sponsor a blood drive from 12:30-5 p.m. Tuesday in the Great Hall of the company?s office building. To schedule appointments, call Rachel Jones at (641) 470-1110 ext. 1729.
Eligible donors last gave blood on or before Aug. 2.

A Van Buren County blood drive is scheduled for 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Keosauqua Senior Center.
To schedule optional appointments, call the blood center at (800) 452-1097.
Donors eligible for the Van Buren County drive last gave blood on or before Aug. 3.
A Birmingham Lions blood drive is scheduled for 2:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Birmingham Lions Club.
To schedule optional appointments, call Harry Anderson at (319) 498-4201.
Donors eligible for the Birmingham drive last gave blood on or before Aug. 11.
Walk-in donors are welcome for all drives.
Donors must be at least 16 years old, in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds. Photo identification or blood donor card is required to donate; 16-year-old donors must present a signed parental consent form, available from blood center offices. Controlled high blood pressure and diabetics are acceptable.
In addition, the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center?s mobile unit drew 16 units of blood Sept. 14 at SunnyBrook Living Care Center.
