Cambridge will host a community blood drive from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 5 in the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center bus parked in the Cambridge Fairfield Business Park.
Donors who last gave blood on or before Jan. 8 are eligible to give at this drive.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16 can donate with parental permission; a form is available at www.bloodcenter.org. Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds and have a photo I.D. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors.

Blood center staff says blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour.
Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 90 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. It is the exclusive provider to Jefferson County Health Center.
