Blood drive planned Oct. 17 in Mt. Pleasant

A Henry County Community Afternoon blood drive will be hosted from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, at the E3 Center meeting room in Mt. Pleasant.
Donors who last gave blood on or before Aug. 22 are eligible to give at this drive.
For appointments to donate, contact the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at 800-747-5401 ext. 1281 or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 5027 to locate the drive.
Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old with parental permission can donate. The permission form is available through www.bloodcenter.org. Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required to donate. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors.

Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour.
