Blood drive Thursday at M.U.M.

Maharishi University of Management is sponsoring a Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center blood drive from 2-6 p.m. Thursday at the Argiro Center.

Donors who last gave blood on or before Jan. 19 are eligible to give again. Walk-in donors are welcome, but those who would like to schedule an appointment can contact Hallei Halter at M.U.M. or visit www.bloodcenter.org.

According to the blood center, blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about an hour. Donors must be at least 16 years old, in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds. People with controlled high blood pressure and diabetics are eligible blood donors.

A blood donor card or other photo identification is required to donate; 16-year-old donors must present a signed parental consent form each time they donate. The forms are available from blood center offices.
