BLOOD DRIVES: Blood drives set today and Wednesday

Jefferson County PM is hosting a community blood drive from 2-7 p.m. today at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Cambridge Learning Center.

For appointments to donate, contact the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at 800-452-1097 or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 5032 to locate the drive.

Donors who last gave blood on or before May 14 are eligible to give at this drive.

Fairfield Arts & Convention Center

Fairfield Arts & Convention Center will host a community blood drive from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday in its Smith Meeting Room.

Donors who last gave blood on or before May 15 are eligible to give at this drive.

Information

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old with parental permission can donate; a form is available through www.bloodcenter.org. Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors.

Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour.
