Parkview Care Center will host a community blood drive 9:30 a.m. to noon Thursday in its The Oaks Lounge.

BATAVIA -- A community blood drive is set from 3:30-6:30 p.m. May 21 at the Batavia Community/Senior Center.
Donors who last gave blood on or before March 26 are eligible to give.

Van Buren County
KEOSUQUA -- Van Buren County will host a community blood drive 3:30-7 p.m. May 22 at the Keosauqua Senior Center.
Donors who last gave blood on or before March 27 are eligible to give.

Information
Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old can give with a completed parental permission form. The form is available through www.bloodcenter.org.
Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors. A photo I.D. is required.

According to the blood center personnel, blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour.
