Lockridge Fire and Rescue to host blood drive Oct. 15
Lockridge Fire and Rescue will host a community blood drive from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Lockridge Senior Center.

Fairfield Arts & Convention Center to host blood drive Oct. 16
Fairfield Arts and Convention Center will host a community blood drive from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in the center's Smith meeting room.

Van Buren High School hosting blood drive Oct. 18
Van Buren High School in Keosauqua will host a community blood drive from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in the school gym.
Donors who last gave blood on or before Aug. 23 are eligible to give at this drive.

Prairie View Church hosting blood drive Oct. 21
Prairie View Church, near Ollie on Packwood Road and Highway 78, will host a community blood drive from 2:30-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, in its Fellowship Hall.
Donors who last gave blood on or before Aug. 26 are eligible to give at this drive.

Donor information
Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old can donate with a parental permission form; the form is available through www.bloodcenter.org. Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors.

According to the blood center, blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour.
Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 100 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. MVRBC is the exclusive provider to Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield, Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, and Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney.
