Danville
A Danville community blood drive will be held from 1:30- 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, in the Bob Dodds Insurance meeting room in Danville.
Donors who last gave blood on or before July 10 are eligible to give at this drive.

Fairfield Arts & Convention Center
Fairfield Arts & Convention Center will host a community blood drive from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, in the center's Smith Meeting Room.

New London Lions Club will host a community blood drive from 1-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the New London Community Hall.

Donor eligibility
Potential blood donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old, with a parental permission form, can donate. The parental permission form is available through www.bloodcenter.org.
A donor must weigh more than 110 pounds. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors.
A photo I.D. is required to donate.

According to blood center personnel, blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour.
Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 100 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin.
In this area, it is the exclusive provider to Jefferson County Health Center, Henry County Health Center, Iowa City VA Health Care System, Washington County Hospitals and Clinics, Fort Madison Community Hospital, Great River Health Systems, and UnityPoint Health Keokuk.
